A little announcement…

If you caught our post a week or so ago, we mentioned a few announcements we’d have coming soon!

The first of those being….. We’re so happy to announce that Josh is now officially full time in our little company!! After 14 years of working for the same company doing IT, Josh finished his last day yesterday!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with our history or the background behind this business, let me fill you in! I, Christy, started this company around 5 years ago doing photography part time and second shooting for a few wedding photographers. When I started taking on my own weddings, Josh started right along with me. Ever since day 1, he’s photographed every single wedding with me. I left my full time job towards the end of 2012 to pursue wedding photography full time. Taking that leap of faith is never easy. It’s been a lot of hard work and long hours. I’ve personally done almost all of the editing and business side/behind the scenes work for the past few years. Last year Josh cut down to 4 days a week, to help me more in the office. We always knew from the beginning that our dream was to both be doing this full time. We had realistic expectations though and knew we couldn’t let Josh throw away a career that he’s worked so hard for, without knowing for sure that we could do this. That we could really make it. We’ve busted our asses the past few years to prove to ourselves that it can be done, to make our dreams with this business a reality and we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.

2016 was by far the hardest and most rewarding year we’ve had since starting Eleven:11. We got our asses kicked (in the best way possible!) with the amount of work that we’ve had. We seriously are overwhelmed with the amount of love, support, and growth our business has seen in the past year. We knew going into 2017 it was time for Josh to make the jump. It’s been almost physically impossible for me to keep up this past year, even with Josh helping me as much as he could. We want to give a HUGE shoutout to our amazing clients from this past year. Thank you for your patience and understanding this year. We know our turn arounds have been long. We can’t thank you guys enough for believing in us and trusting us. We truly love each and every one of you. Thank you for letting us into your lives.

So what does this mean for the future of our business?! Well, for one, you guys may actually get to talk to Josh instead of always having to deal with me. I’m sure he’ll be helping me with emails, etc. in the future. Our biggest goal though is faster turn around times with your images!! We hope now with two people sharing the work load full time, that we’ll be more efficient in our workflows.

On a personal note, we also hope this change means spending more time with our families and friends. We’ve made a lot of sacrifices this year and we honestly haven’t had much of a life. With the passing of Josh’s brother this past summer, it reminded us more than ever how important spending time with our families is. How much we’ve been missing out on our nieces and nephews lives. We hope to share more of our life on this blog. Every year, I say that my goal is to document our life more and dammit, I’m making it happen this year.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading this. Thank you for being a part of our journey. Thank you for following along with us. With the help of a few friends, I decorated the house as a little surprise for when Josh got home from work (for the last time!) yesterday. You can head over to my Instagram to watch a little clip on my story. Also, head over to Josh’s to see a little clip from him and congratulate him on the insane amount of work that he’s done lately to make this a reality.

We can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us. We have so many AMAZING weddings this year. 2017 couples, we can’t wait to celebrate with you.

So much love,
Christy + Josh
